About the Role:
The Tax Director / Senior Director will lead all aspects of the company’s income tax function, including income tax compliance and accounting, tax planning, forecasting, income tax audits, and consult on tax strategy. This role requires a leader with deep experience in ASC 740 tax provision, GAAP financial reporting, legal entity restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, cash tax forecasting, and building scalable tax processes and teams. The ideal candidate will be an experienced tax leader who can partner closely with the Vice President of Tax and other senior leaders in finance, accounting, legal, operating units, and external advisors to ensure compliance, improve efficiency, and support strategic business initiatives.
What You'll Do:
Lead and manage internal income tax staff and external tax consultants. Oversee the preparation and review of quarterly and annual income tax provisions and related financial statement disclosures in compliance with ASC 740 and GAAP. Direct tax compliance activities, including review and filing of federal, state, local, and international tax returns, while ensuring timely and accurate reporting. Manage tax forecasting processes, including estimated cash taxes, effective tax rate forecasting, and consolidated and stand-alone entity tax projections. Partner with accounting and financial reporting teams to support timely SEC and other financial reporting requirements. Develop and maintain strong tax controls, documentation, and compliance with SOX and internal control requirements. Assist in tax planning and structuring initiatives related to M&A, legal entity rationalization, capital restructuring, and operational efficiency. Drive process improvement and automation initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce close timelines, and standardize tax processes across the organization. Oversee tax audits, controversy matters, reserve analysis, and negotiations with taxing jurisdictions.
Do You Have:
Bachelor’s degree with a focus in accounting required. Master’s Degree with a concentration in tax preferred. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required. Significant progressive tax leadership experience. Extensive experience with income tax accounting, ASC 740, GAAP reporting, and public-company tax disclosures.
Experience in publicly traded companies and complex, multi-entity organizations. Background in industries such as manufacturing, technology, healthcare, energy, telecommunications, or other complex corporate environments.
