Position Summary

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a vital member of the Executive Leadership Team, responsible for leading the financial strategy, oversight, and sustainability of Health West Inc., a mission-driven Community Health Center (CHC). Reporting directly to the CEO, the CFO works closely with management and departments to advance the organization’s mission and operational goals through strategic financial planning, budgeting, analysis, and compliance.

The CFO oversees accounting, audits, budgets, contracts, insurance, procurement, revenue cycle management, and the administration of the 403(b) retirement plan. This role ensures compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) regulations, federal and state grants, and nonprofit standards, including IRS requirements and grant funding oversight. The CFO also fosters a healthy workplace setting aligned with Health West’s mission, vision, and values, promoting collaboration, transparency, and accountability.

This position demands an open-minded, forward-thinking, adaptable, and team-oriented approach, with the ability to navigate challenges, lead difficult conversations, and provide data-driven insights to guide decision-making. The CFO ensures that strong key performance indicators (KPIs) are in place, consistently exceeding industry standards.
