Customs Compliance Analyst, FTZ

The Customs Compliance Analyst supports CTDI's import and export compliance programs by ensuring adherence to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, applicable trade laws, and company policies. This position is responsible for reviewing customs transactions, maintaining regulatory documentation, supporting audits, monitoring trade compliance requirements, and assisting with import and export processes. This role supports continuous improvement initiatives designed to reduce compliance risk, maintain regulatory compliance, and improve operational efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review import/export transactions for compliance.
• Assist with classifications, valuation, COO determinations.
• Prepare and maintain import/export, customs, and FTZ documentation and filings.
• Partner with brokers, forwarders, carriers, customers, and internal teams.
• Monitor shipment activity and investigate discrepancies.
• Support FTZ, duty savings, and trade preference programs.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and policies.
• Maintain regulatory records.
• Support audits, reviews, and investigations.
• Respond to customs inquiries and compliance requests.
• Review transactions, documentation, and compliance data to identify risks, trends, anomalies, improvements, and corrective actions.
• Support development and maintenance of procedures, SOPs, work instructions, and internal controls.
• Prepare reports, summaries, metrics, and audit support documentation.
• Reconcile information across ERP, WMS, customs, broker, and FTZ systems.
• Review and validate FTZ transaction activity.
• Perform FTZ inventory reconciliations and accuracy reviews.
• Prepare and maintain FTZ records, filings, and annual reporting submissions.
• Review FTZ filings and related documentation.
• Collaborate with operational teams, customers, brokers, and agencies to resolve compliance issues.
• Support ACE Portal, FTZ software, ERP, WMS, and trade compliance system activities.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on compliance, efficiency, and data integrity.
• Assist with compliance training and regulatory communication.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 2-5 years of experience in customs compliance, global trade compliance, import/export operations, customs brokerage, logistics, or a related field.
• Working knowledge of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations and import/export compliance requirements.
• Experience reviewing customs documentation, shipment records, and trade compliance transactions.
• Familiarity with customs entry processes, tariff classification, customs valuation, and country-of-origin requirements.
• Experience working with customs brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, and government agencies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
• Experience working with ERP systems, WMS platforms, ACE Portal, or trade compliance systems preferred.
• Familiarity with FTZ admissions, transfers, withdrawals, consumption entries, inventory reconciliation processes, and FTZ recordkeeping requirements.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Experience supporting Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ), bonded warehouse, duty drawback, or trade preference programs.
• Knowledge of Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification and customs valuation methodologies.
• Familiarity with Partner Government Agency (PGA) requirements, export controls, and international trade regulations.
• Experience supporting compliance reviews, audits, investigations, and corrective action initiatives.
• Experience analyzing large data sets and identifying trends, anomalies, compliance risks, and process improvement opportunities.
• Working knowledge of SAP, Oracle, ACE Portal, Copper Hill, or similar trade compliance systems.
• Experience within a distribution, logistics, manufacturing, repair, or reverse logistics environment.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across departments and influence compliance-focused outcomes.
• Certified Customs Specialist (CCS), Certified Export Specialist (CES), Certified Zone Specialist (CZS), Licensed Customs Broker (LCB), or similar trade compliance certification preferred.
• Experience working with FTZ systems, ACE Portal, CBP electronic filing platforms, ERP systems, WMS applications, and trade compliance software preferred.
• Experience supporting Foreign-Trade Zone (FTZ) operations, inventory controls, reconciliation activities, compliance reviews, or related trade compliance programs preferred.

Educational Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, International Business, Logistics, Business Administration, Trade Compliance, or a related field preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
