JOB SUMMARY:

The credit analyst’s primary role is supporting the Portfolio Management team of Firstrust Bank in the credit approval process for new lending opportunities and the renewal process for existing loan customers. The analyst will perform underwriting due diligence and assist in the preparation of the credit memorandum that will be presented to the appropriate credit authority.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Analyze corporate and to a limited extent, personal financial statements, tax returns and other financial information provided by the prospect or customer in connection with a new loan request or the renewal/review of existing credit relationships. Interpret & understand balance sheets, income statements and statements of cash flow. It is also expected the analyst will be able to utilize the information in the testing of financial covenants. Work with the Relationship Manager and Portfolio Manager in the underwriting due diligence and preparation of the underwriting memorandum. At the request of the Portfolio Manager, assist in the preparation of financial projections and sensitivity analysis. Upon the direction of the Relationship Manager or Portfolio Manager, interact with the customers and their financial staff and advisors in the completion of underwriting and due diligence. Perform other duties as assigned by the Portfolio Manager Team Leader or Manager. Participate in a comprehensive RMA training program and such other training programs as deemed mutually beneficial. Participate in a series of “Lunch and Learn” sessions within the bank to learn more about the banks capabilities and specialty areas including outside service partners.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree is preferred in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Preferred one (1) to two (2) years relevant internship experience Banking or Financial Services. Demonstrated ability in critical thinking & problem solving, managing multiple priorities, and being a self-starter. Detail oriented and the ability to collaborate with other team members to deliver on results Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
