Oakworth Capital Bank is expanding and has an excellent opportunity for someone to join our team in Birmingham, AL! We are looking for a full-time Business Banking Credit Analyst that will join the Credit Team and work in a collaborative environment to assess risk with any new or existing client & manage commercial credit risk.
We are looking for an analyst that will work well with other bank associates across all departments, is confident in their ability to think creatively and provide sound credit structure insight to client advisors and managers as well as provide support across all areas of the bank’s credit and risk departments. Key Roles/Responsibilities:
- Underwrite small business loans, identify key issues, offer mitigants as needed, discuss with client advisors and team leads.
- Assemble loan approval packages for review and be able to articulate an argument for or against.
- Manage ongoing credit risk in existing loans via ongoing business financial analysis, construction monitoring, Loan Review or Examiner suggestions.
- See that credit policies are adhered to, or point out deviations thereon with proper notices and approvals put to file.
- Validate that the loan structure fits the credit opportunity.
Responsibility Details:
- Underwrite small business loans for companies ranging from $1MM to $10MM in annual revenue.
- Ability to analyze and interpret company prepared and audited financial statements, tax returns for individuals and small business clients.
- Ensures consumer regulations are adhered to.
- May visit or join calls with prospects and clients along with Client Advisors to gain deeper knowledge of creditworthiness.
- Evaluates results of investigations, prepares reports of findings, and suggests credit limitations to commercial and private banking client advisors.
- Provide backup support to Commercial Analysts when their pipeline exceeds capacity.
Successful candidates will have:
- Bachelor’s degree (B A.) or equivalent.
- Minimum of two (2) years of analyzing small business or commercial companies, including but not limited to financial statement analysis, collateral analysis and cash flow analysis.
- Ability to be flexible in order to be responsive to issues and problem solve.
- Excellent written and verbal communication to be able to professionally interact with associates.
- Ability to thrive in a team environment and collaborate well with other Credit Analysts & Associates to meet all client needs and strategic objectives.
