Cost Accountant

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs cost analysis on active jobs in the foundry, heat treat, and machine shop.
• Audits job time reporting on select jobs in the foundry.
• Performs sales price/profit analysis on active jobs.
• Monitors job scrap trends for suggested improvement.
• Prepares Payroll Analyses and Trends for labor cost of production.
• Maintains the Cost Estimating System.
• Maintains Furnace Reports, D5B net goods report, Alloy Usage reports.
• Maintains Job Engineering Masters in the accounting system, including BOM and BOR.
• Develops support for reclasses of labor and materials between departments for D5B and Capital Project labor.

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Working knowledge of the integrated accounting software.
• Must place an emphasis on accuracy and review work performed.
• Communicate in a courteous, professional manner with fellow employees.
• Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Access.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Foundry Environment.
• Regular office environment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
• 3 - 5 Years previous experience preferred.
