Overview
We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Corporate Controller to lead our accounting operations and ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting. This role oversees the general ledger, financial close process, internal controls, and compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements. As a key partner to senior leadership, the Corporate Controller delivers reliable financial insights that support informed decision-making and drive organizational success.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department
- Manage the payroll process and ensure accurate and timely payment to employees
- Collaborate with external auditors during bank audits and the annual financial audit
- Managing month end close timeliness and accuracy
- Regulatory reporting with state agencies including sales taxes
- Preparing internal financial statements and producing external reports required by shareholders and regulators
- Coordinate insurance coverage and tax return completion
- Treasury
- Monitor cash flow, manage banking relationships, and optimize working capital
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and reporting requirements (IFRS)
- Fixed asset and Lease Management, including management of Vehicle Fleet and Building Leases
Qualifications:
The following are qualifications that are necessary for a person to be considered for this position.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting (Master’s degree preferred)
- CPA required
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting or finance roles
- With 3+ years of Assistant Controller or higher
- Strong knowledge of financial management principles and practices
- Proficiency in using accounting software (e.g., Oracle, Netsuite, Microsoft BC) and MS office suite
- Previous experience in public accounting is highly desirable
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective financial report writing
