Job Title:  Corporate Accounting Manager Location:  G3 Head Office (On-Site)

Reporting to the Controller, Corporate Financial Reporting, the Corporate Accounting Manager plays a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, insightful management reporting, and strong forecasting support across all corporate entities. This position works closely with the Executive team, shareholders, and cross-functional partners to provide meaningful analysis, support strategic decision-making, and ensure compliance with accounting standards. The role also strengthens internal controls and supports continuous improvement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Management Reporting

Prepare and maintain month-end reporting packages for executives and shareholders which requires strong business insight to provide relevant commentary on the income statement, balance sheet, and cashflow across all entities. Coordination across multiple departments to ensure alignment and understanding of monthly and annual financial results, partnering with FP&A and Grain Earnings teams to analyze gross margin performance, and collaborating with Treasury to review cash flow and balance sheet results and forecasts. Analyze and communicate financial performance through dashboards and reporting tools such as Power BI and the company data warehouse.

Collaboration with shareholder accounting teams to meet reporting requirements.

Budgeting and Forecasting

Review of monthly rolling forecasts for profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow across all entities to ensure business changes are reflected and variances to budget are clearly identified.

Support annual budget and half year forecast preparation by reviewing schedules prepared by team, consolidating financial data, and recommending plans.

Financial Reporting

Lead the month-end close process for both head office and industrial cost centers, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting through the review and approval of journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger activity. Review and validate monthly financial statements across multiple entities, ensuring accuracy, completeness and consistency while identifying key trends, anomalies, and areas requiring management attention. Quarterly review of balance sheet reconciliations for all general ledger accounts across all entities. Prepare and review annual IFRS-compliant financial statements for all corporate entities inclusive of all supporting note disclosures. Develop and maintain existing IFRS accounting policies. Prepare research and position papers on new transactions with financial reporting implications such as complexities around new sales arrangements, trade finance agreements, and financial instruments. Lead initial analysis of impact and implementation for new accounting standards such as IFRS 18. Partner with external auditors to support quarterly reviews and the annual audit.

Leadership and Collaboration

Lead and support two CPA analysts responsible for monthly reporting to head office stakeholders, industrial cost stakeholders, and executives including regular month end processes, forecasting, and budgeting. Collaborate across Corporate Accounting and the broader organization to identify process improvements and communicate change effectively.

Additional Responsibilities

Act as product owner for the SAP accounting system, overseeing business requirements and governance while partnering with internal tech team to support system stability, maintenance, and issue resolution. Strengthen internal controls by implementing, documenting, and maintaining effective processes, and partnering with internal audit on recommendations. Support ad hoc projects and take on other related responsibilities as needed.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

5 + years’ experience in the accounting field. Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance and CPA designation. Strong leadership and team management experience, with the ability to coach and develop others. Has a strong knowledge of IFRS accounting standards. Strong computer skills and proficient use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred). Experience in agriculture or a related industry is an asset.
