At Guide Dogs for the Blind (GDB), we train guide dogs to create partnerships with individuals who are blind or visually impaired. We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to plan, organize, and review all aspects of accounting functions in a timely, accurate manner and supervise and manage the accounting department. Under the supervision of the Controller, you will prepare journal entries, perform general ledger reconciliations, contribute to accounting policy development, complete audits, and assist with various financial reports and procedures for management. You should possess a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to advise on budgets, financial strategy, financial reporting, and forecasting.

The qualifications you’ll need:

●        BS in Business Administration with a major in accounting or finance; Certified Public Accountant certificate and experience in a non-profit setting desired

●        Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and principles of accounting as applied to non-profit accounting practices; investment accounting and restricted accounting knowledge desired

●        Strong knowledge of automated financial recordkeeping systems; experience with NetSuite and Adaptive Planning a plus

●        Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees with excellent attention to detail and sound judgment skills

●        Excellent oral and written communication skills and advanced skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
