Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Financial Controller to oversee our accounting department and manage the financial operations of Forkardt Hardinge. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, financial reporting, and team leadership. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the integrity of financial information and supporting the company's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting: Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with GAAP and company policies, providing clarity and insight to executive leadership.

General Ledger Management: Oversee the maintenance and integrity of the general ledger, ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately recorded, reconciled, and aligned with accounting standards.

Compliance & Audit: Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, standards, and internal controls. Coordinate external audits, oversee timely implementation of recommended improvements, and ensure adherence to internal policies.

Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable: Direct and oversee AP and AR functions to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely processing, payments, and collections. Implement best practices to enhance cash flow, reduce overdue accounts, and strengthen vendor and customer relationships.

Tax Compliance & Strategy: Oversee all tax-related activities, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. Collaborate on tax planning strategies to optimize the company's tax position and support efficient tax filings.

Process Improvement: Identify, develop, and implement best practices and process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of all accounting functions, with a focus on automation, accuracy, and streamlined workflows.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. CPA or CMA certification preferred.

Experience: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role. Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial regulations.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., JDE, Sage, ERP systems). Advanced Excel skills.

Skills & Abilities: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Strong leadership and team management abilities. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders. Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in financial reporting.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay Range: $120,000 - $150,000
