The salary for this position is $115,000-125,000.
Position Summary
The Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial operations, reporting, internal controls, and accounting functions for assigned hotel properties. This role ensures accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with company policies, and operational support to property leadership teams.
With the expansion of responsibilities to additional hotels, the Controller will provide centralized financial oversight across multiple properties, creating operational efficiencies, improving consistency, and reducing overall labor costs while supporting strategic decision-making.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee month-end close process for assigned hotel properties.
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements, forecasts, and variance analyses.
- Ensure accuracy of balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger activity.
- Monitor cash flow, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes.
- Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
Operational Oversight
- Partner with General Managers and operational leaders to improve financial performance.
- Analyze labor, revenue, and expense trends and provide recommendations.
- Maintain strong internal controls and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Ensure timely completion of audits and tax-related requests.
Leadership & Team Development
- Provide guidance and support to on-property accounting staff.
- Train and mentor team members on accounting procedures and financial systems.
- Promote consistency and best practices across multiple hotel locations.
Systems & Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities for automation and process efficiencies.
- Standardize reporting and accounting procedures across assigned hotels.
- Assist with implementation of new financial initiatives and operational tools.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of hospitality accounting experience preferred.
• Multi-property hotel accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of hotel financial statements and operational metrics.
• Proficiency in accounting and hotel management systems.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently.
Reporting Structure
Reports to: Director of Finance / Regional Director of Finance
Supervises: Property-level accounting staff as assigned
