Job Summary
The Controller is responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting activities within the manufacturing facility. This role partners with plant operations leadership to manage budgeting, cost accounting, inventory control, financial reporting, forecasting, and operational performance analysis. The Plant Controller ensures compliance with company policies and accounting standards while driving financial efficiency and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and plant performance reports Manage cost accounting functions, including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation Develop annual budgets, forecasts, and financial models for plant operations Monitor manufacturing KPIs such as labor efficiency, scrap, downtime, and production costs Partner with plant management to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve operational performance Ensure accurate inventory accounting and oversee physical inventory counts and cycle counts Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP and company financial policies Support capital expenditure planning and ROI analysis for plant investments Lead month-end and year-end close processes for the facility Coordinate audits and provide documentation for internal and external auditors Supervise plant accounting staff and support employee development Analyze trends and provide recommendations to senior leadership
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred 5+ years of accounting or finance experience in manufacturing Strong knowledge of cost accounting and inventory management Experience with various ERP systems Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills Strong communication and leadership abilities Ability to work cross-functionally with operations and supply chain teams
Preferred Skills
Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma exposure Experience in multi-site manufacturing environments Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Compensation and Benefits
