Our client is entering a significant growth phase with plans to nearly double revenue over the next several years through both organic expansion and strategic acquisitions. They need a Controller who can bring structure, leadership, and financial discipline to support that journey.
You'll become a key financial leader responsible for strengthening accounting operations, improving internal controls, supporting banking relationships, monitoring cash flow, and helping leadership make informed decisions as the business scales.
Our client is a privately held architecture and engineering consulting firm serving infrastructure, government, land development, and large-scale project markets. The organization operates with a collaborative, partner-led leadership structure and a hybrid work environment.
In this role, you will…
- Lead all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, project accounting, revenue recognition, and financial reporting
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes while ensuring compliance with GAAP and reporting requirements
- Manage cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning, collections oversight, and banking covenant reporting
- Develop and strengthen accounting policies, internal controls, and scalable financial processes to support future growth
- Partner with ownership and leadership teams to support budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and strategic decision-making
- Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals, including project accountants, accounting staff, and operational accounting personnel
- Coordinate audits, tax compliance activities, lender reporting requirements, and financial due diligence initiatives as the company grows
What we're looking for
- 5+ years of related experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial statement preparation, and month-end close processes
- Proven experience managing cash flow, financial reporting, and operational accounting functions
- Advanced Excel and financial analysis capabilities
- Ability to operate effectively within a growing, entrepreneurial organization
