This role is posted internally, and preference will be given to qualified candidates currently employed with Lunchtime. The Controller is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting operations of the company. This position ensures the integrity of financial reporting, supports strategic decision-making, and leads the finance team in alignment with Lunchtime’s Core Values. The Controller will take a hands-on approach to managing day-to-day accounting functions while also driving process improvements, strengthening internal controls, and contributing to long-term financial planning. As head of the accounting department, the Controller will manage and supervise all aspects of accounting including: billing, financial statements, general ledger, payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, budgeting & forecasting, inventory valuation, tax compliance and other financial analysis reporting as requested by the management team or board of directors. Key Responsibilities
- Develop the finance team's objectives and strategies that support and tie into the company's goals and objectives.
- Oversee the monthly and annual close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and continuous improvement
- Develop, analyze, and present financial reports and billings in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with general accepted accounting principles (GAAP); clearly communicate monthly and annual financial reports; provide monthly and annual management information for all operations, and oversee all financial, project and business development accounting.
- Establish and maintain positive work relationships with others both internally and externally to achieve the goals of the company.
- Responsible for the company's administrative and general office functions through oversight and supervision of the company's Office Manager.
- Oversee and manage the company's IT area and function as the company’s liaison with the IT service provider and advise on appropriate procedures and technology that meets the company’s information requirements.
- Partner with senior leadership to provide financial insights, analysis, and recommendations to support business decisions
- Manage budgeting and forecasting processes, including monitoring performance against financial plans
- Ensure strong internal controls, compliance, and adherence to financial policies and procedures
- Oversee billing, collections, and contract financial management to support consistent cash flow
- Lead the annual audit and coordinate tax reporting requirements
- Monitor cash flow and develop forecasts to support operational and strategic needs
- Provide leadership, development, and direction to the finance team, fostering accountability and collaboration
- Champion and model the company’s core values in all interactions and decision-making
- Build strong cross-functional partnerships and maintain positive internal and external relationships
- Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, systems, and team performance
- Ensure alignment of finance team goals to support the company objectives and strategies
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and budgeting processes
- Demonstrated ability to analyze financial data and communicate insights effectively
- Experience with accounting systems/ERP platforms and Microsoft Office tools
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills
- Proven leadership, problem-solving, and process improvement capabilities
