About The Role:
- Lendmarq Capital is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee the firm's accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls within a fast-paced private lending environment. This role will partner closely with executive leadership to drive financial strategy, ensure regulatory compliance, and support the company's continued growth. The ideal candidate is a hands-on finance professional with strong accounting expertise, leadership experience, and a proven ability to thrive in a dynamic financial services organization.
What You'll Do:
- Maintain our monthly closing process, including combination and consolidation of entities, across 15+ financial books.
- Cash management of the business, including maintain all treasury functions, both at the corporate-level and loan-level.
- Oversee our vendor procurement process, including contract valuation, length and terms, and enhance and develop our vendor management system. Will be responsible for overseeing all Accounts Payable.
- Assist Resfin’s leadership in the annual budgeting and planning process, including 13-week cash flow analysis.
- Oversee payroll functions with the support of the team, as well as payment of incentives and commissions.
- Maintain internal safeguards for revenue receipts, costs, including unit economics, departmental and organizational budgets, and actual expenditures.
- Establish financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on biweekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
- Oversee our reporting requirements both internally, as well externally to our institutional investors and counterparties on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis.
- Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows.
- Lead our annual audit and tax initiatives, including state and local taxes, K-1 preparation, and quarterly tax estimates with our tax providers.
- Oversee and support accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity.
- Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with appropriate standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conform with Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures including CECL.
- Will lead a 3 person team (2 onshore, 1 offshore) and be part of a broader Accounting/Finance Department, reporting to Portfolio Manager with oversight from the Head of Finance.
Qualifications:
- CPA designation preferred or active progress toward certification.
- Familiarity with GAAP for investment funds and portfolio company accounting.
- Proficiency with accounting and reporting systems (Quickbooks preferred).
- Strong Excel and financial modeling skills for analysis and reporting.
- Experience communicating and presenting information to executive leadership teams.
- Experience supporting audit preparation, investor reporting, and capital call processes.
- Relevant experience at a specialty finance or in the real estate industry is a plus.
