Location: Effingham, IL (onsite) Compensation: $110,000 – $130,000 depending on experience and qualifications
About the Role We are seeking a hands-on, plant-based Controller to join our close-knit team. You will take ownership of all financial operations and reporting for a privately held manufacturer in a rural setting. This is a boots-on-the-ground role for someone who thrives in a scrappy, evolving environment and can help drive structure and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Full ownership of accounting and financial reporting; manage AP/AR and month-end close.
- Partner closely with operations to deliver sales and cost analysis, bill of materials, and inventory cycle management.
- Identify and drive process improvements in a low-infrastructure, high-complexity setting.
- Prepare and present margin analysis and recommendations to leadership.
- Support and develop accounting team members; foster strong cross-departmental relationships.
- ERP system (GSS) use; prior ERP experience required, but not specific to GSS.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- Manufacturing accounting experience is a must
- ERP system proficiency (any platform)
- Strong analytical skills; ability to perform cost and margin analysis
- High emotional intelligence and ability to navigate change and build relationships
- CPA preferred but not mandatory
