With integrated property management, development, and in-house construction capabilities, the company maintains direct oversight of its portfolio while continuing to invest in future growth and the communities it serves.Your New RoleBased in Kamloops and reporting directly to the President, the Controller will provide financial leadership across a large and active real estate platform. This opportunity comes as part of a planned succession following the retirement of a long-tenured Controller, allowing for a comprehensive transition and knowledge transfer before assuming full responsibility for the role.You will oversee the day-to-day accounting and finance operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, regulatory compliance, budgeting, and audit management. As a member of the senior leadership team, you will lead and mentor the accounting group while partnering closely with operational leaders across the business to support strategic planning, investment decisions, and the continued growth of the organization. Beyond the traditional responsibilities of a Controller, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing evolution of the finance function. Kelson Group continues to invest in technology, process improvements, reporting capabilities, and future growth initiatives, creating an environment where your ideas and leadership will have a meaningful impact on the business.What Sets You ApartYou are a CPA with at least five years of progressive accounting leadership experience, ideally within property management, real estate, construction, or another asset-intensive industry. You have experience leading accounting teams, preparing complex financial reporting, managing audits, and developing financial controls and processes. Experience with Yardi and advanced Excel skills are highly desirable.Equally important, you are a collaborative and approachable leader who enjoys mentoring others and building strong relationships across an organization. You bring sound judgement, strong technical accounting expertise, excellent communication skills, and a continuous improvement mindset.
