This position will work out of our Atlanta office.
Job Summary:
Manages construction company financial statements, treasury function, annual budget, and financial analysis for projects under construction.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with the Executive team and FWC leadership on accounting objectives and deliverables. Offers recommendations on accounting implications of strategic business initiatives.
- Oversees and reviews the preparation of monthly financial statements and annual budget process. Monitoring significant variances from budget to actual.
- Partners with Director of Operations and Project Managers on project job costs and analysis.
- Management of vendor payments and utilization of revolving line of credit.
- Manages annual audit engagement with outside accounting firm ensuring accuracy of the financial statements.
- Has a full understanding of percentage of completion accrual accounting and completes on-going training to stay current with changes in the discipline;
- Effectively leads and develops a team with members dispersed across multiple geographic locations. Develops metrics to determine team success. Manages escalated department and personnel issues. Monitors performance expectations for FWC accounting staff.
- Conducts debriefing analysis after major projects to evaluate current processes and to recommend best practices and strategies for future projects.
- Adheres to and enforces all company policies, such as corporate compliance and business ethics, and confidentiality.
- Communicates in a professional manner with all clients and employees within the organization; Presents professionally at all times.
Required Qualifications:
- Supervisory Skills (mentoring, coaching, development and performance management) – Advanced

- Written and oral communication skills - Advanced
- General Ledger and Real Estate accounting procedures – Advanced
- Sage Intacct Accounting Software
- Procore Project Management Software
- Computer efficiency with email, electronic word processing and spreadsheet applications, such as Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) - Advanced
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA or MBA preferred
- 4-6 years experience in construction accounting or similar role
- 4-6 years of direct supervisory/management experience
