Position Summary: The Controller is responsible for various accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, strategic planning, and financial matters of Caminar and its various programs. The Controller will report to the CFO and oversee FP&A and Accounting team members. In addition, s/he will work with program managers and staff to ensure smooth accounting operation across the organization. The Controller will supervise and train FP&A, accounting and payroll team members. S/he must be able to adapt to a continually evolving environment and thrive in an autonomous and deadline-oriented workplace.

Qualifications

•    5+ years of progressively responsible accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and finance experience with at least 3+ years of leadership experience. 
•    Must be passionate about Caminar's mission.
•    Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Administration from an accredited institution. 
•    Significant experience in or knowledge of nonprofit accounting in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
•    Experience in governmental funding including HUD-funded housing, Medicare, Medi-Cal and other federal, state, and local governmental programs.
•    Experience in recruiting, mentoring, training, and retaining team members 
•    CPA Preferred
•    Non-profit experience preferred
