Scalzi is a growing law firm based in Vaughan, Ontario, with a team of approximately 50 professionals. We pride ourselves on an interactive, outgoing, open and friendly culture built on honesty and humility, both with our clients and with each other.As we continue to grow, we are looking to bring more structure, consistency, and strong financial governance to our day-to-day accounting operations — from billing and collections to cost controls and reporting.
Scalzi is seeking a Controller, reporting to the Director of Finance.
This is a newly created role responsible for owning the full cycle of day-to-day accounting, leading month-end and year-end reporting, and implementing firm-wide policies related to cost controls, billing practices, and reconciliations. The Controller will manage a team of two bookkeepers and will play a key role in bringing structure and strong governance to areas of the business where established processes don’t yet exist.
We’re looking for someone who is comfortable managing not just downward but upward, a strong communicator who can build trust and bring clarity to a fast-paced, fast-growing environment.
