Role
To support the compliance function and operations of the credit union through maintenance of various records, reports, and performance of daily tasks. Performs auditing duties of moderate complexity in accordance with standard procedures.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Performs assigned account card audit procedures, loans, and maintenance, reports errors and communicates to management. Performs compliance duties as assigned including but not limited to; file maintenance, audit tracking, risk monitoring, review of checks over $2,500, review of aggregate cash transaction reports, and review of shared branching transaction reports. Assists in analyzing reported data as requested.
- Maintains strong working knowledge of credit union policies and procedures, and applies such knowledge to perform all job duties and assignments. Leverage this knowledge of credit union operations to improve processes and career development.
- To maintain exception reports and tracking systems to accurately identify, correct, and report selected defects, defect rates, and trends, including follow up reporting for outstanding errors. To utilize other resources to accomplish routine gathering and maintenance of information and data, and provide cross-training as needed.
- Performs audits according to pre-established guidelines. Audits include but not limited to; branch drawer, vault, and monetary instruments, quarterly checklist, branch signage, and touch points. Reports findings and recommendations to management.
- Assists in ensuring the organization is in compliance with all regulations.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Knowledge and Skills:
- One year to three years of similar or related experience
- A high school education or GED
- Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
- Must possess excellent communication and business writing skills.
- Must be able to operate related computer software and business equipment including 10-key, telephone, slide, film, Microsoft office, Core System, and reporting analytics
- Professionalism in appearance, dress, and attitude is a must.
- Effectively interact and collaborate with a team and others to achieve a common goal.
- Must possess working knowledge of Microsoft office products including excel, word, and outlook.
Working Environment/Physical Demands:
Work involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, etc. Employees work primarily in an office setting under generally favorable working conditions. The job requires walking, sitting, bending, stooping, standing for long periods of time, or similar activities. Employees frequently lift objects up to 25 pounds, occasional lift heavy objects from 26 to 50 pounds, yet seldom from 51 to 100 pounds.
