Company Accountant, Financial Services

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
• Professional qualification CIMA/ACA/ACCA or equivalent.
• 4 years of experience in accounting or a related function, applying accounting principles, including International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and related international accounting standards.

Preferred qualifications:

• 6 years of experience in accounting or a related function.
• Experience in business partnering with strong problem-solving and investigative abilities.
• Ability to manage a varied workload, while ensuring accuracy, timeliness and a high degree of attention to detail and a commitment to continuous process improvement.
• Demonstrated tech savvy capability or strong interest in utilizing AI, scripts, or advanced automation tools to enhance financial reporting and control environments.
• Team player who demonstrates strong drive for results, shows leadership, and possesses strong negotiating skills along with excellent people management and communication skills.

In this role, you will be responsible for the statutory financial and tax filings required by law. You'll also manage and enhance the financial control environment. Responsibilities

• Be responsible for overseeing the annual statutory financial statements and tax compliance process, including management of the external audit and tax filings for a portfolio of Alphabet's financial services companies in EMEA.
• Partner closely with cross-functional business leaders to provide strategic accounting support for the development and launch of new products and expansion into new markets.
• Identify process and strategic improvement opportunities by leveraging AI, scripts, and automation tools to streamline financial reporting workflows, reduce manual intervention, and enhance the function's overall value proposition.
• Perform regular in-depth analysis on the financials, ensuring the integrity and financial accuracy of our books and records, while preparing, analyzing and posting journals at month end.
• Review reconciliations of key balance sheet account balances including relevant reporting for same.
