Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
The company is in the process of raising substantial capital and going public, and requires a CFO who will own financial reporting and compliance, day-to-day financial operations, investor relations, and governance and controls — and will run those functions independently and proactively.
The CFO is expected to be the financial center of gravity for the company: trusted by the board, credible with investors, and operationally rigorous across a multi-entity, cross-border structure.
What You'll Own
Team and function-building
- This company is redomiciling now to headquarter in the US, so the entire finance function in the US needs to be established. CFO to hire, build, and lead a strong finance and accounting organization — defining the structure, recruiting the talent, and developing the team that will scale with the company
- Establish the processes, systems, and culture of a high-performing, public-company-grade finance function
Core finance
- Financial reporting and compliance, including SEC reporting and the controls and processes required of a public (or soon-to-be-public) company
- Day-to-day financial operations: accounting, treasury, FP&A, budgeting, and cash management across US and international entities
- Consolidation and management reporting across a multi-entity, multi-currency structure (US parent, US multiple international subsidiaries)
- Governance, financial controls, and audit coordination, working with external auditors and advisors
Capital and investors
- Investor relations: serving as a primary financial point of contact for current and prospective investors, and building the IR function and materials as the shareholder base grows
- Support for and, over time, leadership of fundraising activities — preparing materials, modeling, diligence support, investor communication, ATM offerings, overnight financings, acquisition financing, and other capital markets transactions.
- Board-facing work: preparing and presenting financial materials, supporting board and committee meetings, and partnering with the CEO on board communication
- Readiness for public-market processes, including the reporting, controls, and disclosure infrastructure those require
Expanded scope
- Oversight of Investor Relations, Legal, and Mergers & Acquisitions, coordinating internal teams and external counsel and advisors across those functions
- Partnering on corporate development and M&A: evaluation, diligence, structuring support, and integration
