Your impact
As a Business Controller within the TAL FP&A team, you will play a pivotal role in guiding strategic and financial decision-making for our Technology & R&D organization. Acting as a trusted business partner, you will translate financial data into actionable insights, helping leaders make informed decisions while ensuring programs are delivered on time and within budget. You will report directly to the Head of FP&A EMEA/APAC.
The Technology organization is at the heart of TAL’s innovation journey. Formed through the integration of three companies, it brings together approximately 600 talented professionals across the Netherlands, Germany, and India. This is a highly collaborative, international environment where entrepreneurial thinking, innovation, and results-driven teamwork are valued and encouraged.
In this role, you will work closely with Technology & R&D leadership, commercial teams, and finance colleagues across the business. You'll combine strong financial expertise with strategic thinking, providing an independent perspective on investment decisions, business cases, product development initiatives, and portfolio performance.
What You'll Be Doing
- Partner with Product Management and Solution Management teams, providing financial insights, business cases, and portfolio steering recommendations.
- Drive the full Technology & R&D planning cycle, including long-term planning, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end performance analysis.
- Lead project, cost center, and CAPEX controlling activities, ensuring transparency and financial discipline.
- Develop and maintain KPI dashboards, management reporting, and performance review processes.
- Support and coach R&D teams on financial topics related to product development, investments, and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with reporting and analytics teams to continuously enhance reporting capabilities, data quality, and business insights.
- Challenge assumptions, identify risks and opportunities, and provide recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
- Contribute to process improvements, automation initiatives, and the adoption of AI-driven solutions within finance and reporting.

Qualifications & experience
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accountancy, or a related field.
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in Business Control, FP&A, or Finance Business Partnering within an international environment.
- Experience supporting Technology, Product Development, Engineering, or R&D organizations is highly preferred.
- Proven ability to work with senior stakeholders and translate financial insights into business actions.
- Excellent command of English, both spoken and written. Additional languages such as German or Dutch are a plus.
- Experience with AI solutions and a strong affinity for reporting automation, process optimization, and digital transformation.

What you can look forward to?
This position offers a monthly salary range from € 6.500 up to € 7.600. When performance expectations are exceeded, there is even the opportunity to grow beyond this scale.
