Cedarline Greenhouses is a 16-acre pepper greenhouse operation based in Dresden, Ontario, growing premium quality produce for major retail and distribution partners across North America. Cedarline is part of a group of companies that includes Truly Green Farms, a 90-acre tomato greenhouse operation based in Chatham, Ontario. Together, we are one of the larger greenhouse operations in the region, with a strong team culture and a commitment to excellence in everything we do - from what we grow to how we operate.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team. This is a core, hands-on role supporting the day-to-day financial operations across multiple entities within our group of companies. You will be responsible for keeping our financial records accurate, current, and complete - playing an essential role in the smooth running of our business.

The successful candidate will work primarily out of our Dresden greenhouse location, with the occasional need to be at our Chatham greenhouse approximately one day per week.

What You'll Be Doing

Accounts Receivable

• Prepare customer statements, invoices, and credit/debit memos across multiple entities
• Post receipts to appropriate general ledger accounts and verify transaction details
• Prepare and distribute monthly receivable statements
• Reconcile expenses to the general ledger and handle basic client inquiries

Accounts Payable

• Process invoices, calculate and post business transactions, and maintain accurate AP records
• Verify financial data and clarify any invoice items, prices, or approvals as needed
• Ensure obligations are paid accurately and on time

Payroll Administration

• Process payroll and maintain accurate payroll records for the organization
• Handle employee status changes and reconcile payroll deposits, tax withholdings, and deductions
• Prepare T4s and support month-end, quarterly, and year-end payroll reporting
• Ensure compliance with exempt and non-exempt worker classifications

General Bookkeeping

• Maintain up-to-date financial and business transaction records in accordance with accepted accounting procedures
• Compile and verify source documents including vouchers, invoices, purchase orders, and cash receipts
• Post details of business transactions to appropriate ledgers and journals and total accounts

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of bookkeeping experience, ideally in an agricultural, manufacturing, or multi-entity environment
• Solid working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing
• Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and strong Microsoft Excel skills
• High attention to detail, well-organized, and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• A self-starter who works well independently and as part of a small, collaborative team
• Experience with multi-entity bookkeeping and T4 preparation is a strong asset
• Must be comfortable occasionally commuting to our Chatham location approximately one day per week
