CliftonLarsonAllen (CLA) Search has been retained by a well-established specialty contractor in Maryland to identify a Bookkeeper to join their growing team.
Our client specializes in exterior building envelope solutions for commercial and institutional facilities, providing services such as roofing system installation, repair and replacement, architectural sheet metal, protective coatings, and ongoing maintenance programs. Reporting directly to leadership, the Bookkeeper will play a key role in supporting the company's day-to-day accounting and administrative functions. This individual will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing invoices and payments, supporting project cost tracking, reconciling accounts, and preparing timely financial reports.

What You’ll Do:
- Maintain bookkeeping records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, deposits, and general ledger entries.
- Process customer invoices, vendor invoices, purchase orders, and payment requests.
- Track project-related expenses and assist with job cost reporting.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and vendor accounts.
- Support payroll administration, employee time tracking, and expense reimbursements.
- Monitor accounts receivable and assist with collections efforts on outstanding balances.
- Maintain organized records, including contracts, change orders, compliance documents, invoices, and receipts.
- Prepare financial reports, cash flow summaries, and aging reports for leadership.
- Coordinate with external accountants, payroll providers, and vendors.
- Assist with general office administration and operational support as needed.
What You’ll Need:
- 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting support experience; construction industry experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, account reconciliations, payroll support, and financial reporting.
- Experience with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Experience supporting construction, contracting, or project-based organizations.
- Knowledge of job costing, progress billing, and retainage.
- Ability to identify accounting discrepancies and recommend process improvements.
