Role: Billing SpecialistDuration: 6-month contract to start, with strong potential for extension/conversionWork type: Remote (US)Pay: $32-35 per hourOur leading client, an AI-powered technology solutions provider, is seeking a Billing Specialist. The Billing Specialist will be responsible for processing and managing customer billing, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing, and supporting the overall billing operation. The role will primarily focus on product/inventory billing, with some billing complexity but limited month-end/year-end responsibilities.The ideal candidate will have hands-on Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains (GP) experience, specifically within product or inventory billing, along with a high-level understanding of revenue recognition (Rev Rec). Strong attention to detail, accuracy, analytical skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively are important for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Generate and process accurate customer invoices in a timely manner.
- Review contracts, agreements, and service orders to ensure billing aligns with established terms.
- Reconcile invoices with customer records and agreements to ensure billing accuracy.
- Maintain and update customer billing information within relevant systems.
- Respond to internal and customer billing inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
- Primarily support product/inventory billing activities.
- Track billing schedules, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Perform billing-related data entry and maintain accurate records.
- Assist with billing and receivables reporting.
- Provide documentation and support for audit requests.
- Provide limited support for month-end/year-end billing activities.
- 3 – 5 years of similar experience.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains (GP).
- Experience with product and/or inventory billing.
- Understanding of revenue recognition (Rev Rec) at least at a high level.
- Prior experience as a Billing Specialist, Billing Analyst, or similar billing role.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong Excel/computer skills.
- Experience with Oracle NetSuite.
- Experience with Salesforce and/or ServiceNow.
- Finance or accounting background.
- Experience reviewing contracts, agreements, or service orders.
- Experience supporting billing reconciliations and discrepancy resolution.
- Customer-facing billing experience.
