Hours: 8:00 - 5:00 Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week

The Accounting Technician responsible for the billing and collections process for private-pay patients and other financial accounts will post payments and prepare deposits while ensuring confidentiality and accuracy through the application of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Financial counseling to patients
- Posting self-pay payments
- Completing and sending deposit sheets for payments
- Reviewing credits on accounts
- Submitting refund requests as needed
- Updating estimated charges
Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Five years of billing experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- General knowledge of bookkeeping terminology, methods, procedures and equipment
- Knowledge of accounting principles and related data processing equipment
- General knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and third-party payor regulations, processes and procedures
- Knowledge of standard office procedures, practices and equipment
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions
- Possess ability to establish and follow detailed work procedures
- Ability to post accounts and to perform mathematical computations with speed and accuracy
