Billing Specialist

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective 

The Billing Specialist will prepare all accounts receivable invoices and support purchasing and accounts payable processes/departments.

Essential Functions

· Invoicing of freight and other services

· Bi-Weekly Storage invoicing

· Monthly special charges for mills

· Rejected Material/ Returned Pallets/ Scrap for other Delaco divisions

· Billing all mills for Rejected Material 

· Line Charges and Storage Charges

· Reconcile Bill of Lading from various types of services with Purchase Orders to Accounts Payable Invoicing

· Scanning invoicing and other information over to Corporate Headquarters and Customers for payment

· Filing

· Supply Ordering

· Dealing with Vendors

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

• Preferred Degree in accounting, business administration, or related field
• Three (3) years of billing experience
• Three (3) years of Accounts Receivable or general accounting experience. Public Accounting is preferred
• Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent computer and software skills
• Customer service skills, attention to detail 
• Strong communication skills, including writing, speaking and active listening
• Excellent customer service skills to clarify billing disputes or payment processes
• Basic math and accounting skills to document financial records
• Discretion when handling customer data 
• Proficiency in using bookkeeping software to process payments

Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday. Extended hours, nights and weekend work may be necessary based on business needs.

Travel

This position requires no travel.
