JOB SUMMARY
The Billing Specialist at Bradley Physician Services, LLC is responsible for accurate and timely processing of medical claims, ensuring proper reimbursement and maintaining patient accounts. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and a strong understanding of medical billing practices.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
* Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies and other third-party payers electronically and manually.
* Review and verify patient demographic and insurance information for accuracy and completeness.
* Follow up on unpaid or denied claims, appealing as necessary, and resubmitting corrected claims.
* Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and other healthcare providers to resolve billing discrepancies and answer inquiries.
* Process patient payments, post adjustments, and generate patient statements.
* Identify and resolve coding errors and claim rejections.
* Maintain accurate and organized billing records and documentation.
* Stay up-to-date with changes in billing regulations, coding guidelines, and insurance policies.
* Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts receivable.
* Protect the confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
* High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in medical billing, healthcare administration, or related field preferred.
* Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing, preferably in a physician services setting.
* Proficient in medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
* Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding.
* Excellent understanding of insurance carrier requirements and reimbursement methodologies.
* Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve billing issues efficiently.
* Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
* Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
