The salary for this position is $83,000-93,000.
Position Summary
The Assistant Controller is responsible for supporting the financial operations, reporting, and accounting functions for assigned hotel properties. This role assists with month-end close, banking activities, journal entries, financial reconciliations, and operational accounting support while partnering closely with property leadership teams.
With the expansion of responsibilities to an additional hotel property, the Assistant Controller will help strengthen financial oversight, improve operational efficiency, and provide centralized support across multiple hotel locations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Month-End Close
- Assist with month-end closing processes for assigned hotel properties.
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial schedules.
- Support financial statement preparation and variance analysis.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of accounting records.
Banking & Cash Management
- Oversee daily banking activities and cash reconciliations.
- Monitor cash flow and assist with treasury-related functions.
- Ensure timely and accurate deposits and account balancing.
Operational Accounting Support
- Provide accounting support to hotel operations and department leaders.
- Assist with audits, internal controls, and compliance procedures.
- Support accounts payable, receivable, and payroll-related functions as needed.
Leadership & Process Improvement
- Assist in training and mentoring accounting team members.
- Help standardize accounting processes across properties.
- Identify opportunities for operational and financial efficiencies.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 4+ years of accounting experience, preferably in hospitality.
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of month-end close and financial reporting.
• Experience with banking, reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities across multiple properties.

Reports to: Controller / Director of Finance
Supports: Multiple hotel properties and accounting operations
