| Primary Duties and Responsibilities: | Position Summary The Assistant Controller supports the Controller in managing the university’s accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and audit processes. This role provides leadership over day-to-day accounting functions while ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), federal and state regulations, and institutional policies. The Assistant Controller plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of the university’s financial records and serves as a key liaison to internal and external stakeholders. Reporting Structure The Assistant Controller reports to the VP of Financial Operations & Controller and supervises professional accounting staff. The role works closely with senior finance leadership and campus stakeholders to support the university’s financial operations. |

| Required Education | Required:
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Preferred:
A Master's in Accounting, Finance or related field |
| Required Experience | Required • Five to eight years of progressive accounting experience. • Strong knowledge of GAAP within higher education environments. • Experience with financial statement preparation, audit coordination, and month-end close. • Experience with university ERP systems such as Banner, Workday, or Oracle. • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Preferred: • Supervisory or team leadership experience. |
