JOB TITLE: Accounts Receivable Technician
ORGANIZATIONAL UNIT: Accounting
SUPERVISOR: Chief Financial Officer
SALARY RANGE: $15.00 TO $21.00 an hour
FLSA: Non-Exempt
ALL FULL TIME POSITIONS: In addition to your pay, your salary also includes Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance. The Biweekly deduction from employee paycheck is $40.00 for Employee Only, $95.00 Employee plus Children, $120.00 Employee plus Spouse, and $140.00 Employee plus family.
JOB SUMMARY: Accounts Receivable Technician is an entry level accounting position reporting directly to the CFO. The position verifies and records daily sales information and accounts receivable for CPN enterprises. The Accounts Receivable Technician creates all accounts receivable invoices for each enterprise and fund within the Citizen Potawatomi Nation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Verifying information on daily sales reports before inputting into the accounting software.
- Verifying information on all charge accounts and creating customer invoices in the accounting software.
- Creating all invoices from enterprise charges and accounts payable reimbursements.
- Mailing invoices/credit memos on a weekly basis to customers.
- Monitoring accounts receivable balances for all enterprises and funds.
- Researching inquiries for accounts receivable.
- Answering internal and external customer inquiries.
- New credit application investigation.
- Check work for completeness, accuracy, and conformance to accounting standards.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform other duties and projects as required by management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Demonstrate experience with basic knowledge of accounting principles.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates Degree preferred but not required.
- 2 years related experience
- Experience in an electronic accounts receivable processing environment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- The ability to multi-task and willingness to learn new skills.
- Type approximately 50 keystrokes per minute.
- Knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Team oriented person who can focus on the details.
- The ability to deal effectively with tight month end closing process.
- The ability to work effectively in a high growth environment and rapidly changing organization.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, concepts, techniques and terminology.
- Operate computers programmed with accounting software to record and store accounting information.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Sitting for long periods of time, occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping, good finger dexterity and feeling, frequent repetitive motions.
- Occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs)
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Normal office environment.
