Accounts Payable Clerk

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Under the supervision of the Controller or his/her designee, the Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for:

• Handling of all Accounts Payable for all branches as well as Child Care Centers
• Review sales and lease agreements.
• Assist the Controller in researching, obtaining and analyses quotes for the organization.
• Monitor credit card balances and payments.
• Assist the Controller in analyzing expenses to ensure the most cost-effective avenue is taken.
• Manage Positive Pay Management with banking institute.
• Review mail and perform filing of all invoices.
• Complete all check requests in an accurate and timely fashion ensuring all necessary back-up and documentation is in place.
• Perform other job-related duties or special projects as may be periodically assigned by the Controller.
• Assist the Finance and Leadership team with financial information as needed.
• Prepare, maintain and supply 1099 forms to auditors.
• Collect and maintain W-9 and Certificate of Insurance documents.
• Work professionally and ethically with all staff.
• Immediately alert the Controller to any discrepancies found.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Associate degree in Accounting, four years Bookkeeping experience or equivalent education and experience. 
• Knowledge of Excel, Word, General Ledger and Accounts Payable software packages.
• Must be a team player with good organization, communication skills, and detail oriented.
• Cooperate; work effectively and congenially with all staff members, volunteers and members of the Association.
• This position requires a high degree of confidentiality. 
• An ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing to a wide scope of individuals.

PHYSICAL REQURIEMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
