Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Manager

HornBill's client, a fast growth enterprise located in New York, NY is currently seeking an Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Manager. This company offers world class benefits in a beautiful location. Responsibilities include:
- Provide leadership and guidance to a staff of 3 to 4 non-exempt employees in accounts payable department
- Monitor productivity through monthly management reports on volume by employee
- Develop policies and procedures, identify and implement efficiencies, monitor processes, trouble-shoot issues, communicate with internal and external customers
- Review and approval of all disbursement vouchers; Work with treasury on work transfers and payments
- Process weekly check runs utilizing reports to review for and prevent duplicate payments
- Reconciliations related to accounts payable, including clearing accounts
- Preparation of required adjusting general ledger entries
- Monitor uncashed checks; Re-issue or void when necessary
- Maintain vendors, tax information, and flag payments for 1099 reporting
- Work with the Manager of Tax Accounting and Reporting to communicate vendor tax related matters to university departments
- Provide training to the finance staff and the university community related to various purchasing and payment applications
- Assist with training regarding the travel and business expense policies, substantiation requirements, and appropriate business expenses
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting, Management, or Business, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience from which comparable skills can be acquired
- Five years of experience leading an Accounts Payable unit within a medium to large organization
- Advanced computer skills including proficiency in Excel and Word, ability to work with and analyze or reconcile large amounts of data, and experience working with report writers of various software packages
- Ability to identify best practices and implement process improvements
- Must be a dedicated professional and team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills with people at all levels of the organization
