POSITION SUMMARY
Perform professional revenue cycle work with a high degree of complexity and oversee staff, various departmental operations and programs. This supervisory position is responsible for revenue cycle procedures; providing a variety of technical reports pertaining to assigned accounting/financial operations; and providing information and assistance to department managers and staff regarding financial activities. The Accounting Supervisor - Claims coordinates multiple service areas and serves as the operational hub connecting revenue cycle operations with broader divisional functions. This role emphasizes coordination, compliance oversight, and cross-functional integration.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Establish and maintain revenue cycle data dashboard for all lines of business
• Collect, and summarize analytics with a high degree of complexity for accurate reporting
• Process improvement coordination within revenue cycle claims and across departments
• Utilize lean methodologies for continuous improvement initiatives
• Perform a variety of administrative duties associated with supervising staff to include hiring, assigning work; providing guidance and direction; coordinating staff training and development; reviewing work products and evaluation performance
• Oversee all accounts receivable and/or accounts payable transactions; authorize disbursements, and review and approve payment vouchers and requisitions
• Prepare a variety of financial and accounting reports, including detailed revenue cycle metric reports, budget reports, monthly financial reports, and revenue cycle scorecard
• Serve as advisor to division director and/or managers regarding revenue cycle activities, budget services, payer policies, standard office procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and maintain varied accounting databases which support division financial activities; enter and update data and ensure accuracy; research and retrieve data from databases upon request
• Review payer contracts and ensure claims are being submitted to payers in accordance with contract requirements
• Draft ordinance revisions, resolutions and executive summaries as required to maintain currency of existing ordinances
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: Minimum of four years in Accounting or Finance
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration

Licenses and Certifications
• May require a North Carolina or South Carolina Driver's License
• May require County Driving Privileges
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Medical Billing certifications
• Project Management certification
• Experience with EHR (Electronic Health Record) go live and/or served as a superuser
• Health insurance payer contracts
