Accounting Operations Specialist

Base Compensation Range:

Base salary is one component of total compensation. Employees may also be eligible for an annual bonus and some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. The above represents the expected base compensation range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining pay, we consider various factors including, but not limited to, skills and experience.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Administers the Bank's accounts payable function and performs accounting operations support activities. Performs assigned general ledger reconciliations, researches and resolves outstanding accounting items, and supports month-end accounting processes. Serves as the primary backup for daily Federal Reserve account reconciliation, cash balancing, and related cash management activities.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Administers the Bank's full accounts payable function, including invoice processing, employee expense reimbursements, purchasing card transactions, OREO-related payments, and annual 1099 reporting.
• Reviews, verifies, and approves payable documentation for completeness, proper authorization, coding accuracy, and compliance with established policies.
• Produces and distributes payments through approved payment channels.
• Performs assigned general ledger account reconciliations and researches outstanding reconciling items.
• Serves as backup for daily Federal Reserve account reconciliations, cash balancing activities, and related cash management functions.
• Assists with identifying, researching, and resolving accounting exceptions and balancing differences.
• Prepares documentation for internal auditors, external auditors, and regulatory agencies.
• Participates in special accounting projects and performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft Office, accounts payable systems, and general ledger applications. Experience managing multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment while maintaining confidentiality.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Work is generally performed in an office environment with frequent interruptions. Ability to remain in a stationary position, operate a computer, move throughout the workplace, and exchange information.

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

Associate’s Degree in related discipline or equivalent years of experience.

MINIMUM PRIOR EXPERIENCE:

3 years of related experience.
