Base Compensation Range:
Base salary is one component of total compensation. Employees may also be eligible for an annual bonus and some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. POSITION SUMMARY: Performs credit analysis to evaluate the credit risk and loan quality of existing borrowers in the Commercial Banking Group. Under the supervision of the Commercial Credit Department Manager or Commercial Credit Director analyzes financial statements, develops and analyzes cash flow information and prepares comprehensive credit summaries. Collaborates with business lending officers in the decision process.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accurately spreads financial information on existing borrowers.
- Analyzes business financial statements as well as tax returns and cash flow statements to determine profitability, capital adequacy, liquidity, asset quality and the ability to repay obligations.
- Performs personal cash flow analyses and personal financial statement analyses on individuals to determine liquidity, availability of assets, and overall financial strength and repayment capacity.
- Performs comprehensive credit analyses focusing on the Bank’s borrowers. Recognizes and assesses pertinent risks and identifies the impact of financial, non-financial and external factors, ranging from management issues to general economic and industry conditions.
- Reviews loan quality rating for accuracy, determines changes in risk and makes recommendations.
- Interacts with appraisers to review market values, rental rates, vacancy rates and capitalization rates.
- Reviews loan files to ensure the completeness and that all collateral has been secured properly.
- Accompanies commercial banking officers on calls to existing borrowers to assist in the financial analysis and preparation of new loan requests.
- Maintains current knowledge of federal and state regulations, and the Bank’s policies and procedures in credit administration/business lending operations.
- Participates in internal and external training course to enhance knowledge of the business credit process.

REQUIRED SKILLS: Sound knowledge of financial statements, accounting principles, credit policy, applicable laws and industry data sources. Strong financial analytical skills with sound judgment and decision-making abilities. Sound written and verbal communication skills. Skilled in adopting and leveraging technologies to enhance efficiency, communication, and task management.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is often performed in an office environment. Ability to stay in a stationary position, operate a computer, move inside the workplace and exchange information. This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement in accordance with Webster Five’s Remote Work Policy.
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting, or related discipline.
MINIMUM PRIOR EXPERIENCE: One year of experience in credit analysis in the financial services sector.
