Accounting Operations Associate – Cash Application
Location: Urbandale, IA
Openings: 2
Employment Type: Temporary-to-hire opportunity; assignment through December 31, 2027
Schedule: Flexible daytime hours, with start times as early as 7:00 AM
Work Arrangement: Hybrid—three days onsite per week for the first four weeks, then approximately one to two days onsite per week

Position Overview
We’re looking for a dependable accounting operations professional to support cash application, commissions, and revenue activities. You’ll research payments, resolve discrepancies, and communicate with clients and insurance carriers to help keep account information accurate.
This is a good opportunity for someone with cash application or related accounting experience who enjoys detailed work, solving payment issues, and collaborating with a team. You’ll also support the team as it develops a new cash application system.
Key Responsibilities
- Support cash application, commission, and revenue processing activities.
- Research overpayments and underpayments in Oracle and help resolve account discrepancies.
- Review payment information for accuracy and follow up on issues needing clarification.
- Communicate with clients and insurance carriers by email to resolve payment questions.
- Assist with policy setup and maintain accurate account information.
- Partner with client-facing teams and internal colleagues to resolve issues.
- Support updates to cash application processes and systems.
- Complete assigned work accurately and within established deadlines.
Qualifications
- Two to four years of relevant experience in cash application, accounting operations, payment processing, or a related area.
- Cash application experience is strongly preferred.
- Ability to research payment discrepancies and follow through on resolutions.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Clear written communication skills and comfort corresponding with clients and insurance carriers.
- Dependable, organized, and comfortable working in a team environment.
- A college degree or equivalent related work experience is preferred.
Interview Process: One interview with the hiring manager and a team member.
