Job Summary
York Space Systems is seeking an Accounting Manager to join our finance team based in our Greenwood Village, CO, office. You will partner across functions to support York’s growth and success. This is a high-profile role, and you will be expected to progressively take on more roles and responsibilities over time. This position requires strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to partner cross-functionally while supporting continuous process improvements.
This role will be fully on-site in our Greenwood Village office.
Key Responsibilities
Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes by managing team deliverables, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to deadlines across assigned areas of responsibility, including but not limited to inventory, fixed assets, revenue recognition Lead, mentor, and develop supporting staff accountants, fostering accountability, engagement, and professional growth. Manage team workload, priorities, and deadlines to ensure accounting activities are completed accurately and on schedule. Prepare, review, and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules to ensure compliance with US GAAP and company policies. Review trial balances, financial statements, and variance analyses to identify trends, investigate anomalies, and provide insights to management. Serve as a subject matter expert for the ERP system (Oracle Fusion preferred), driving best practices and supporting system enhancements and process improvements. Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures in accordance with SOX requirements and GAAP standards. Support internal and external audits, management reporting, tax-related requests, and resolution of audit findings and accounting issues. Collaborate with FP&A, operations, and cross-functional teams to support budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and process improvement initiatives. Identify and implement opportunities for automation, enhanced reporting efficiency, and continuous process improvement. Perform other accounting duties and support finance team members as required or assigned.
Qualifications Required for the Role
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or CPA license required Strong knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) required Minimum of five (5) years of relevant, progressive accounting experience required Big 4 experience preferred Expertise in ERP systems required, expertise in multiple ERP systems a plus, ERP implementation experience a plus, Oracle experience a plus Expertise in the use of Microsoft Excel and other software programs available to maximize efficiency required Knowledge of accounting for a manufacturing environment preferred Ability to prioritize workload, and meet multiple deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced, frequently changing environment with little to no supervision required Ability to be self-motivated and able to accomplish tasks with minimal guidance required Detail orientation and problem-solving skills required Superior verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate successfully with people at many levels within the company required
