Department: Accounting Reports to: President FLSA Status: Salaried - Exempt Position Summary: Responsible for the overall management of the Accounting Department, planning, organizing and directing accounting staff to meet company objectives of Performance Designs, Inc., and Deland Research Corporation by utilizing excellent, in-depth knowledge of company programs conforming with and abiding by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Completes correspondences regarding payroll information for unemployment, Internal Revenue Service, Department of Labor, Quarterly, Year-end, UCT6, FUTA and 941.
- Enters payroll summary into the general ledger
- Obtains budget information from Department Managers and execute information.
- Reconciles all company bank reconciliations.
- Compiles company financial statements; reconciles balance sheet accounts and maintains fixed assets.
- Prepares, reconciles, and processes payment of payroll tax returns and other information both quarterly and annually; processes and completes necessary reporting for year end W2’s and W3.
- Responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash deposits for Deland Research Corporation, Deland Air, BC Leasing, PD of Miami, Aviation Services, AF&L Enterprises, Atlantic Resources, and PD Honduras; approves weekly payables and reconciles and prepares monthly and year end accounts payable documents.
- Performs delinquent debt follow-up and makes arrangements with Dealers for payment of delinquent payables.
- Develops and implements departmental policies, procedures, and special financial studies.
- Directs and supervises Accounting Clerk; reviews and evaluates work performance and conducts counseling measures as appropriate.
- Reconciles all credit card accounts
- Request all foreign drafts.
- Assists in annual 401(k) and Worker’s compensation audits and all other required audits.
- Prepare all month end journal entries including payroll accruals.
- Audits product price lists including all standard costs in M2M and maintains Chart of Accounts and purchase categories..
- Verifies credit references, approves customer terms, and prepares vendor credit applications.
- Provides for and maintains insurance on company vehicles and property.
- Performs other inherent duties related, but not limited, to the above.
- Finger, hand and arm dexterity necessary for data entry
- Close visual acuity is necessary to prepare and analyze data and figures and when viewing computer.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required for communicating with internal and external public
- Listening skills are crucial for communicating
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time
