POSITION OVERVIEW: As an Accounting Manager at LJA in our ​Accounting​ department, you will be responsible for coordinating and assisting in the completion of month-end closing activities, journal entries, reconciliations, schedules, and analysis to ensure accuracy, thoroughness, and timeliness. 

A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE: 

• Coordinating and assisting in the completion of month-end closing activities, journal entries, reconciliations, schedules, and analysis to ensure accuracy, thoroughness, and timeliness 
• Analyzing financial reports and records 
• Assigning tasks to accounting staff and review as appropriate 
• Preparing monthly reconciliations for Intercompany Accounting 
• Participating in preparation for the annual audit 
• Making recommendations relative to procedures and the accounting of assets, reserves, etc. 
• Managing the fixed asset system 
• Collaborating with internal company departments, such as facilities and real estate teams to ensure lease compliance and calculations are accurate 
• Developing staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships 
• Applying sound judgment in accordance with GAAP in all transactions, policies and procedures 

REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS: 

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with a portion of it being in a supervisory role 
• Solid knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) 
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment; ability to accurately work under pressure and prioritize work to meet established reporting deadlines 
• Ability to maintain compliance with applicable state and federal laws 
• Ability to manipulate large amounts of data, high attention to detail and accuracy 
• Requires initiative based on familiarity with the organization and accounting practices and procedures 

IDEALLY, YOU SHOULD ALSO HAVE: 

• CPA certification or be CPA eligible
