Accounting Manager

About the Role:

Hydraulics International, Inc. (HII) is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to support the Assistant Controller in overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, strengthening internal controls, and supporting the Company's financial objectives.

The Accounting Manager will oversee month-end and year-end close processes, maintain the general ledger, support audits and tax reporting, and provide financial analysis to assist management with strategic decision-making.

This is a full-time onsite position located in Chatsworth, CA. Remote work, hybrid work, and relocation assistance are not available. 

Job Title: Accounting Manager

Responsibilities:

• Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
• Maintain the general ledger and oversee all accounting transactions.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and support schedules.
• Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to management.
• Monitor financial performance and identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), company policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
• Prepare tax schedules and assist with federal, state, and local tax filings.
• Monitor adherence to accounting policies, tax regulations, and audit requirements.
• Foster a collaborative, high-performing, and customer-focused accounting team.
• Partner with cross-functional departments to improve accounting and financial processes.
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting operations and enhance efficiency.
• Support system implementations and process automation initiatives.
• Assist in improving purchasing, procurement, and financial reporting processes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
• 3-6+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Experience with purchasing and procurement processes a plus

Schedule: M-F 8am-5pm
