Accounting Manager (Grants)

Summary:

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Accounting Manager is responsible for preparing and maintaining accurate reports and data in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles within their work areas.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

1. Must have a four (4) year degree in accounting. CPA preferred.

ESSENTIAL:

1. No convictions for any felony or for a misdemeanor involving dishonest.

2. Must be bondable.

3. Valid driver’s license, dependable transportation and proper insurance.

EXPERIENCE:

1. Must have 4-6 years of accounting experience serving in positions with increasing levels of responsibility.

2. Government accounting experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES REQUIRED

1. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
2. Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow directions and procedures.
3. Strong understanding of accounting theory, principals, and practices.
4. Familiarity with relevant FASB and GASB requirements.
5. Proficiency with accounting applications, spreadsheets, database file systems, and word processing.
6. Strong working ability in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
