We partner with hospitals and health systems to provide dedicated inpatient glycemic management services designed to improve patient outcomes, support clinical teams, and reduce the risks associated with uncontrolled blood glucose during hospitalization.

Travel Requirements: Minimal travel required, with occasional travel to the corporate office in Jacksonville, FL.

Compensation

$80,000$95,000 annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Position Overview

The Accounting Manager is an experienced accounting professional responsible for supporting the organization’s day-to-day accounting operations, financial controls, and month-end close activities. This position works closely with the VP of Operations and CFO to ensure financial transactions are accurately recorded, reconciliations are completed timely, and accounting documentation is organized and maintained in accordance with established policies and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple entities, accounts, and priorities in a growing organization.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Close

  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
  • Maintain the general ledger, chart of accounts, and supporting accounting records.
  • Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, payroll accounts, and other balance sheet accounts.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies, variances, and reconciliation issues.
  • Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, including the Profit & Loss Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement.
  • Ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with GAAP and company accounting policies.

Accounts Payable & Vendor Management

  • Own the full accounts payable lifecycle, including invoice intake, coding, approval, and payment processing.
  • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy, completeness, proper authorization, and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare and process weekly check runs and electronic payments.
  • Manage vendor records, including W-9s, tax documentation, and contact information.
  • Resolve vendor discrepancies, credits, and payment issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Prepare and manage annual 1099 reporting and related compliance requirements.
  • Ensure expenses are appropriately allocated across departments, facilities, and other applicable cost centers.

Payroll & Multi-State Employee Administration

  • Execute bi-weekly payroll for multi-state W-2 employees using Paychex Flex.
  • Review payroll for accuracy, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely payroll submission.
  • Record, post, and reconcile payroll, benefits, payroll taxes, and related liabilities in QuickBooks Online.
  • Partner with Operations on payroll allocations, stipends, bonuses, and labor-cost analysis.
  • Ensure payroll-related accounts are accurately reflected in the financial statements.
  • Support onboarding of employees in new states, including payroll setup, state tax registrations, and related compliance requirements.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare monthly financial and management reports for the Executive Team.
  • Prepare departmental financial reports and work with department leaders to verify expenditures, coding, and allocations.
  • Monitor cash flow and prepare cash-flow projections for leadership.
  • Perform budget-to-actual and other variance analyses and identify significant trends or discrepancies.
  • Provide financial analysis and data-driven recommendations to support business decisions.
  • Prepare schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for financial reporting.
  • Support special projects, financial analyses, and ad hoc reporting as requested.

Compliance, Registrations & Internal Controls

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, established accounting policies, and internal controls.
  • Maintain complete and organized financial documentation and audit trails.
  • Coordinate with external tax preparers, auditors, payroll providers, banking partners, and other financial vendors.
  • Support multi-state business registrations, including state tax accounts, business licenses, and other required registrations.
  • Track filing and renewal deadlines to ensure registrations, licenses, and accounts remain current and in good standing.
  • Prepare documentation and schedules for audits, financial reviews, tax filings, and external accountant requests.
  • Identify financial, compliance, or control risks and proactively recommend corrective actions.

Systems, Processes & Continuous Improvement

  • Document, maintain, and improve accounting, payroll, and accounts payable policies and procedures.
  • Identify process inefficiencies, control gaps, and opportunities for automation or standardization.
  • Assist with accounting and payroll system enhancements and optimization, including QuickBooks Online and Paychex Flex.
  • Support consistent application of financial policies and procedures across GlyCare operations.
  • Participate in accounting and finance projects associated with organizational growth and expansion.
  • Maintain current knowledge of accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant accounting experience may be considered.
  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Demonstrated experience with account reconciliations, accounts payable, general ledger activities, and month-end close processes.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records across multiple accounts and entities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify, investigate, and correct discrepancies.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong time-management skills and ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the accounting and leadership teams.
  • Proficiency with accounting software, including QuickBooks Online, or similar accounting platforms.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to handle confidential financial and organizational information with discretion.
