Description

We are seeking an Accounting Manager who will report directly to the Director of Finance and will be responsible for overseeing everyday accounting operations with a strong focus on Accounts Receivables. This person will manage the accounting staff and workflow, manager A/R and A/P, inventory & manufacturing accounting, government contract compliance, general accounting & reporting and system process improvement.

Duties:

• Oversee and manage all A/R and A/P functions, including generating, reviewing, and

distributing customer invoices in a timely manner.

• Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on collections to ensure prompt

payment.

• Review and approve AP transactions, ensuring accurate coding, proper authorization,

and timely vendor payments.

• Manage the AR/AP workflow within the QAD ERP system; batch review and posting

of transactions.

• Maintain vendor and customer account records with accuracy and integrity.

• Oversee inventory accounting in a manufacturing environment, including raw

materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods.

• Perform and coordinate periodic physical inventory counts and cycle counts;

investigate and resolve variances.

• Ensure accurate cost accounting for manufactured products, including labor, materials,

and overhead allocations.• Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to maintain inventory accuracy and integrity in the QAD ERP system.

• Support DCAA (Defense Contract Audit Agency) and DCMA (Defense Contract Management

Agency) audits, including preparation of required documentation and acting as a liaison during

audit engagements.

• Prepare and/or review Incurred Cost Submissions (ICS) in accordance with FAR/DFARS

requirements.

• Develop and maintain provisional indirect cost rates and support forward pricing rate

proposals.

• Ensure all financial records and practices are maintained in compliance with DCAA

regulations, Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and applicable government contracting

requirements.

• Monitor government contract revenue recognition, billing milestones, and contract financial

performance.

• Lead the month-end and year-end close process, including preparation and review of manual

journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts; investigate and resolve discrepancies.

• Perform bank reconciliations and cash accounting on a regular basis.

• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.

• Prepare and distribute special financial reports and analysis as requested by the Director of

Finance or senior leadership.

• Ensure compliance with GAAP principles across all accounting functions.


Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA or CMA

certification is a plus.

• Minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience, with demonstrated

expertise in A/R, A/P, and general accounting.

• Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and accounting best practices.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.

• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment with hands-on inventory accounting

responsibility is required.
