Our Client, a fast-growing e-commerce and lifestyle brand, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join their finance team. The ideal candidate brings a blend of public accounting discipline and private-industry agility — someone who takes full ownership of the financial function and leverages technology to drive accuracy, efficiency, and strategic insight.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring financial statements are accurate and delivered on time
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, reserves, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Conduct detailed general ledger analysis, proactively identifying and resolving discrepancies
- Apply technical accounting knowledge to maintain GAAP compliance and strong internal controls
- Manage audit workpaper preparation and serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors
- Build and maintain scalable, well-documented SOPs to support the department's growth
Operational Ownership
- Own the General Ledger function end-to-end
- Understand business operations and their financial impact, driving change through influence
- Identify process bottlenecks and implement sustainable solutions proactively
- Operate as a true business owner within finance, holding company resources to a high standard of accountability
- Partner cross-functionally to connect financial results with underlying business drivers
Technology & Process Optimization
- Lead implementation and optimization of accounting systems, including ERP, expense management, and reconciliation tools
- Own system processes that impact financial reporting
- Drive the shift from manual processes to automated workflows
- Use data analytics and visualization tools to deliver actionable insights to leadership
Leadership & Mentorship
- Manage and mentor junior accounting staff, fostering growth and continuous improvement
- Build a collaborative, cross-functional team culture
Required Qualifications
Experience
- 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience
- 1–2 years of experience supervising staff or leading projects
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Technical Skills
- Strong experience with advanced ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite)
- Proficiency with automation tools (e.g., Alteryx, AI-driven tools) and advanced Excel (VBA, Power Query)
- Familiarity with BI/reporting tools (e.g., Snowflake, Looker, Power BI)
Soft Skills
- Strong sense of ownership — comfortable with both hands-on tasks and high-level strategic initiatives
- Sharp analytical thinking, with the ability to identify the "why" behind financial trends
- Excellent communication skills, able to translate complex financial data for non-finance stakeholders
