POSITION SUMMARY
Under the general supervision, the incumbent organizes and supervises all general accounting activities. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining the accounting systems that ensure the proper accounting and recording of organization resources; provides financial statements, analysis and other key management reports.
The incumbent is expected to work in accordance with the mission, purpose, and values of the Colusa Indian Community Council.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor and evaluate the activities and performance of the accounting staff;
- Prepare required governmental reports and responds to inquiries;
- Review daily cash flow reports and analyzes as required;
- Administer preparation of monthly financial reporting and performs analysis;
- Prepare financial reports as required;
- Verify support schedules to G/L control accounts;
- Identify additions or deletions to accounts in G/L to improve control;
- Responsible for on-going Accounting Department staff training & development;
- Assist with the continued design & implementation of the internal control system for Tribal & enterprise operations;
- Assist Tribal Controller with annual budget preparation;
- Attend and participate in professional conferences and workshops to enhance position related efficiency and knowledge;
- Maintain high confidentiality standards at all times, required to sign a confidentiality statement upon acceptance of employment;
- May perform other duties commensurate with the functions and level of the position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration with an Accounting concentration, or Finance.
- Experience: Five (5) years of relevant experience and two (2) years’ experience as an accounting manager.
- Licensing: Must be eighteen (18) years of age at the time of appointment.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel is required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and good organizational skills.
- Well-developed participatory management and administrative skills, with proven ability to train, mentor and motivate personnel.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment & able to multi-task.
- Flexibility and ability to assist others when needed.
- Must enjoy working with diverse groups of people.
- Dedicated hard worker with ability to report to work on a daily basis.
