Accounting Manager

This role oversees the core accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting. These functions serve as a critical foundation for Bethesda—providing the financial clarity and accountability needed to support wise decision-making and responsible stewardship. Depending on the candidate's experience and qualifications, this role has the potential to advance to or start as a Controller.

The right leader will bring structure, discipline, and consistency to financial operations, while working collaboratively across the organization to ensure financial information is accurate, accessible, and useful.

You may be a strong fit for this role if you are a hands-on accounting leader who enjoys building processes, improving systems, and leading a small team with clarity and accountability. You take ownership of outcomes, value accuracy, and work well with others to ensure the organization operates effectively.

Outcomes

  1. Accurate monthly financial statements and supporting documentation delivered within 7 business days of month-end close.
  2. Financial records maintained with 100% accuracy and compliance, supported by strong internal controls.
  3. A clean and well-prepared annual audit, with audit readiness maintained throughout the year.
  4. Clear and accurate tracking of departmental spending, enabling reliable budget monitoring and decision-making.
  5. A high-performing accounting team achieving 90%+ EOS goals and metrics each quarter.
