Our client, a well-established downtown Vancouver law firm, is seeking an Accounting Clerk to join its collaborative finance team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an organized and detail-oriented accounting professional looking to build their experience within the legal industry.

Working closely with the finance department and supporting a busy real estate practice, the successful candidate will be responsible for trust accounting, billing, reconciliations, and general accounting support. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities, and maintaining a high level of accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Process daily trust transactions, including trust deposits, transfers, and cheque preparation
• Monitor trust and general bank accounts and assist with banking activities
• Coordinate wire transfers and related trust transactions
• Assist with trust and general account reconciliations
• Maintain compliance with Law Society trust accounting requirements
• Prepare and process client billing and invoicing
• Support institutional and electronic billing processes
• Process billing adjustments and write-offs as required
• Manage and reconcile petty cash
• Provide occasional administrative and reception support
• Assist with additional accounting and administrative projects as needed

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or finance experience
• Previous law firm or professional services experience is considered an asset
• Familiarity with trust accounting principles is an asset
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office applications
• Team-oriented with a professional and client-service-focused approach
